Giant Buddha

Recently on a trip to Hong Kong I went on a day trip to visit the Big Buddha and the Po Lin Monastery. The Big Budda is about a one hour train trip out of Hong Kong. The Big Buddha sits a daunting 34 meters tall on top of a building on top of a steep hill (and a lot of stairs...).

One of the fun things about getting to the Big Buddha is a trip on the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car.  The day trip was worth it as the Island was great for Photography. Whilst I didn't explore any more of the island there looks like there's tons more to see and do...

The only thing I will say is get there early as the tourists and locals will appear by the truck loads and the cable car does sell out.

Singapore from the top of the Marina Bay Sands

Recently on a trip to Singapore I had the opportunity to stay at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.  Anybody who has been to Singapore in the last 5 years would have seen the Hotel as it looks like 3 buildings with the giant surf board ontop.

The Hotel it's self is huge and amazing but it's famous for it's roof top pool. The pool is one of Singapore's biggest drawcards and it does get crowded. However nothing beats floating in the pool watching the sunset over Singapore.

The photo Im posting today is taken from the pool deck at the Marina Bay Sands showing the Singapore Skyline at dusk.

Macro Photography-Gecko

Over Christmas I went to Queensland to see family. One of the interesting this about staying in Queensland is the amount of little creatures that you consistently find inside and outside the house.

Geckos are every where and while eating lunch I spotted this little gecko sitting on a leave. I shot this little fellow using my Canon 5D Mk 2 and a Canon 100mm Macro lens.

I took these shots on my iphone.

iphone Panorama

Mobile phone camera photography is on the rise, just about every one takes photos with their devices.

Today I'm posting a panorama I took with my iphone 4. This panorama was shot at Black Rock Beach at sunset. I then stiched it together in Photoshop CC and a couple of minor tweaks in Lightroom 5 and then here you go!
