Final Post of 2013!

It's hard to believe the year is over! This is my last post for 2013, however I'll be back on the 20th of January 2014 with my first post of the new year.

As my last post of 2013, I'm posting a shot of the Empire State Building I took in New York a couple of years ago. This is the shot I'm converting into wall paper to put up at home.

It should look awesome. Once it's finished I'll post a photo of the wall.

Have a safe new year and I'll see you in 2014!!

I really enjoy sports photography and I've decided to post a few of my sporting photos today as I prepare for my new ventre.

I'm posting a variety of sporting shots covering a couple of sports. I'll release more in the new year about my new business.

Tigers Close Up

Today I'm blogging one of my favorite photos I've taken at a Zoo.

I took this at the Melbourne Zoo through the glass in the Tiger enclosure, a couple of yeras ago. I love the tigers intense stare and the close up feel of the photo.

Whistler

It's hard to believe I only have 3 more posts left for 2013 after this week...anyway today I'm posting some photos I took on a trip to Whistler, Canada.

These photos were taken in 2009 on my iphone and a small 'tough' camera that I had started shooting with. I hadn't purchased a DSLR yet.

Whistler is a place I'd like to go back to one day with my DSLR and re-shoot. I dont think my small camera captured the stuning environemt properly.

I've posted a couple of my shots from the trip.

Singapore at night

Today I'm posting a couple of panorama's I took recently on a trip to Singapore.

The first panorama is taken from my hotel window at the Marina Bay Sands hotel and the second is taken down along the Marina Bay.

The first is shot from behind hotel window glass which makes it all the more difficult, as you have to stop reflections and light from within the room affecting the photo.

Hong Kong

I've just recently returned from a trip to Hong Kong and took a ton of photos. Hong Kong is a great place to photograph especially at night.

The photo I am posting today is taken from my hotel window in Mong Kok. The photo is actually a panorama made up of about 5 individual photos stitched in Photodshop CS6 and edited in Lightroom 5.

I am going to get this photo put onto wallpaper to cover an entire 4 meter long wall in my new studio, once it's done I post a photo of the completed wall.

Singapore Toy Museum Part 2

On the 20th of May 2013 I posted about the Singapore Toy Museum
This week I'm posting more photos from my visit.

The Toy museum is beautifully set out over a few floors and has thousands of toys from early days when toys were made out of metal right through to the latest fabs and crazes.

Some of my favorite zoos are Singapore and San Diego. In the next few weeks I'll hopefully be heading back to the Singapore Zoo and I'll post the photos in the future.

Echinda

On a trip back from Waratah Bay I saw this little fellow wandering up the side of the road on a grassed area.

I pulled over and for the next 20 minutes I floowed him (or her) around photographing him. The echinda was completley ignoring me as he kept searching for food.

Finally he wandered into some scrub and I was on my way home. Here are a couple of my photos.

Brooklyn Bridge

One of the must do experiences in New York is a leisurely walk across the Brooklyn Bridge down into Brooklyn and D.U.M.B.O. The Brooklyn Bridge it's self is a great location for photography. Today I'm posting a couple of my shots of the Brooklyn Bridge.

I'm considering turning the last photo into wall paper to cover an entire bedroom wall. I'll blog a photo of the room when I finish it.

Sunset

Yesterday morning (Sunday) I headed into the Digital Show that was on in Melbourne. There was soooooooo much to see. Everything possible to do with photography was on display from the major camera companies to the lesser know photography suppliers!I was only in there for 2 hours but I could have spent the whole day wandering around.

Today I'm posting a shot of a sunset I took a while ago at Brighton Beach, Victoria. This was the first time I had ever taken a sunset and it's was a lot more difficult than I thought.  This is the final result after some minor tweaking in Photoshop.

I've always had dreams of becoming a sports photographer. Over the past couple of years I've experimented with photographing various sports such as MLB Baseball, Aussie Rules Football, Ice Hockey, Horse Racing and athletics.

Each sports has its own unique challenges and techniques. Today Im posting a couple of my MLB Baseball photos I took while in the USA. I've recently started a flickr page for my sports photography, click here for the link.

Boston

Today my blog is about one of the most amazing cities in the USA is Boston

When I first visited Boston a couple of years ago I had no idea what to expect and by the end of my stay I was completely blown away. It's got so much history and things to see and do!

Boston has the most amazing history and the freedom trail is not to be missed. There are so many magnificent old building to photograph. I've posted a couple of photos today however I'll be posting more photos of Boston in upcoming posts.

Pet Photos

Pet photography is big business nowadays and a highly specialised area. I have a mate who specialises in just pets and he is always working. I had no idea of how much of a demand there is for this sort of photography. This leads me into todays blog.

I'm posting a coupe of photos of our very naughty pet cat, Alice. The first was shot in color and converted into Black & white and tweaked in Photoshop CS6 to get her eyes to stand out. I think the Black & white gives the photo a bit more of a dramtic effect rather than a boring old photo of a cat on its back.

The Great Ocean Road

A couple of months ago I headed down the amazing Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay. I hadn't done the drive along the Road for years and forgot how stunning it is.

Today I'm posting a couple of photos of the ocean I took along the way. The first one was taken at dusk and the second was taken during the day.

Baseball Stadiums

Today I'm posting a couple more of my MLB Stadium Panoramas.

These Panoramas are for Wrigley Field in Chicago, CitiField in New York and Petco Park in San Diego.

Baseball Stadiums are great fun to photograph as Panoramas and once I have finshed running them throught photoshop I get them printed and framed with a couple of team patches and my ticket and they look amazing!

When my new studio/mancave is complete these will look great up on the wall!

Macro Photography-Praying Mantis

Today I'm posting a photo of a hungry Praying Mantis that was sitting on a branch right outside my backdoor. I had to take the opportunity to get the shot!

This shot was taken using my Canon 5D Mk2 and a Canon 100mm Macro lens with a Canon 2x extender.

American Museum of Natural History NYC

One of the great Museums to visit is the American Museum Of Natural History in New York city. This museum is massive as you expect for something located in New York city and would take a couple of days to see everything.

Aside from the amazing Dinosaur area another fascinating area to visit is the Hall of African Mammals. The hall boasts over 28 dioramas of African Life and onthe floor below is the Hall of North American mammmals, which is just as impressive.

Below are some of my photos from the Museum.

Alaska Brown Bear (North America Mammals)
